No Mind Meditation – Face Skull Spirit
Goldtimers Tapes is a brand new label based in Chicago and they’ve just hit it out of the park with their first batch. Stunning releases from ambient heroes Deep Magic and Red Electric Rainbow make this set of tapes instantly gratifying and a guaranteed pleasure, but it’s this gorgeous release from newcomers No Mind Meditation that excites me the most. As mysterious and illusive as NMM seems to be, Face Skull Spirit is a beautiful and welcoming collage of sonic weirdness – music that’s as warm and embracing as it is spacey and foreign. Some truly strange noises grace this tape but once it’s over, the only thing you’re going to want to do is press play again. More please!
