Fletcher Pratt – Dub Sessions Vol. 1

Here’s a tape that totally swept me off my feet. We don’t know much about Fletcher Pratt: he’s a dude from Winnipeg, CA and he’s got an incredible ear for the kind of warped, muddy, jazzy dub that is being produced way too infrequently nowadays. Legend has it that the folks at Dub Ditch Picnic Records came across some of Pratt’s recordings and offered him a tape release based solely on said recording, and we are all extremely lucky that he agreed. Dub Sessions Vol. 1 is a fascinating tape – one that makes an enormously powerful statement and leaves me begging for – nay, demanding – more. Spectacularly weird!
