56k – Calls in the Night

Last summer, Josh Burke’s spectacular Aguirre LP Prana spent an unparalleled amount of time on my turntable. Burke has got a grip on the insanely meditative, relaxing, new age synth sound in a way that few artists even dream of nowadays. And now, under his 56k alias, Burke has crafted another slice of ambient heaven. Two sides of shimmering, translucent beauty, Calls in the Night is this season’s ultimate soundtrack to spring mind-cleaning sessions across the world. Knowing how things go with the marvelous but super limited release label Fadeaway Tapes, I’d say that you should grab this one – as well as the rest of the new batch, including a tremendous split with Thoughts on Air- immediately, before it’s all sold out.
