Gore Orphanage – Point Omega

Gore Orphanage – Point Omega

Gore Orphanage excels in atmosphere. Wether he’s building expansive guitar-based clouds of harmonics or extended spirals of synth workouts, Brooklyn’s Kris D’Agostino has got the gift of inventing his own immersive world of music. And even if the name Gore Orphanage refers to a spooky, haunted ruin in Lorain County, Ohio, the music here is marvelously embracing and welcoming to listeners. For that reason – rather than recalling a journey into an abandoned mansion –  Point Omega brings to mind more vividly one’s first experience into a planetarium: it’s a wonderful, immense, and eye-opening look at the limitlessness of the world around us.
