Trouble Books & Mark McGuire – s/t LP

Even in the fast-paced world of ambient, loop-based musicians, Mark McGuire had an impressively prolific year in 2010. It seemed like every week, he was putting out a new solo CD-R or tape release, not to mention his stunning work with Emeralds on their breakthrough LP Does It Look Like I’m Here?. So, 2011 has seemed comparatively devoid of McGuire acitivity. Trouble Books, however, just announced this new collaborative LP, featuring their typically gorgeous song structure on top of freshly birthed McGuire compositions. It’s a stunning collaboration, equal parts heavenly drift and woodsy hearth. Just fascinating to hear.
